Halloween is inching closer and we're all trying to figure out what to be! While I'm still scrambling to put something together, I've created some fun costumes inspired by fashion that might give you a push in the right direction!
Laura Croft: She is a true badass. Her look screams, "fierce" and yet you don't have to buy too much to put the outfit together! Go to Goodwill and look for some old boots, the more "vintage" the better --- if your boots are tattered, you look more hardcore! Find a black tank or tee, tight, black shorts and complete the outfit with a long braid. Halloween stores should have the rest of the pieces!
The Sock Hop chick: This is a classic Halloween costume that anybody can pull off. The best part about it.... you don't have to buy a lot to make it work! Find a vintage skirt, (or something fun from your closet) and go from there. Choose a simple top, maybe something off the shoulder, and put a cardigan over it (if you want to add layers). Find some fun accessories like cat eye glasses, a scarf, poodle accessories, and big hair to complete the look!
Tina Turner Chic: Tina Turner is the definition of a Diva - a glamorous and successful female performer or personality- so recreating her look for Halloween is a perfect combo for glitz and glamour! This Forever 21 dress is a great starter piece to work off of. From there, buy sparkly accessories to complete the look you want. Crimp your hair or buy a wig, and you've turned yourself into a full blown diva!
Flirty Flamingo: Flamingos have become a symbol for breast cancer so as October is breast cancer awareness month I thought this would be a fun way to show support AND look super cute. Find a pink dress to work with (this one is from American Apparel) and go from there! If you love pink, this is the perfect costume for you!
Mother Nature: You could do so much with this idea. Pick a dress or skirt and top and keep the colors blue and green. Add flowers, butterflies, a head piece, whatever you think is earthy to create the ultimate mother nature goddess.
Whether you're a flirty flamingo or glamorous diva, these costumes are easy to make and you can have fun with it! So before you go out and spend a ton of money on a costume that someone else might be wearing, take a look at your closet and get creative! You never know what you could find hiding away!
Happy Halloween!

Your Lara Croft costume idea is so creative! With "army" boots being in style, along with leather, I'm sure lots of girls will be able to pull that off without buying much at all! Nice job! (FYI, found you on IFB)
