Haute Hues

 Camel, rich purples, saturated fall colors and olive tones all fall into this season's hot color scheme.
With the burst of  military in the fashion world, more earth tones are showing up....

Camel: the new neutral: If you haven't loaded up on this fabulous hue, now is the time. Camel, is the "IT" color this fall. It can match just about any color you want to put with it. From browns to blacks, purples to blues, camel is a friend to every hue. 

Designers like Chloé, Alexander Wang, and Michael Kors are crazy about camel.

Anything from purses, to shoes, coats to pants are showing up in camel. Choose one versatile piece and pair it with other trends of the season.

Olives: Stemming from the military trend, olive tones, army greens and shades of brown have made a big boom in the fashion world.

Look out for trench coats, military inspired jackets, layering pieces, leggings, and cargo style pants in these tones. Some skin tones clash with these tones so be sure to try on. Find the shade that looks good with your coloring.

Rich Purples: Eggplant, saturated purples and vibrant magenta tones are all the rage. They are dark enough for fall but still add a pop of color to drab tones.

Designers like Alice + Olivia and Betsey Johnson show the funky side of purple.

**Opaque tights in a purple tone would be a great addition to a dark winter outfit.

Gray: This neutral color is everywhere. Jeans, sweaters and outerwear are a great choice when wearing this color.  Sporting the hue in moderation can look stylish and cozy but be careful not to over do it.

I absolutely love the gray suit by Alice + Olivia. There is something about it; It's just so chic. 

Mix it up by adding some fun prints or winter knits into the gray mix.

Red tones: Like purple, this color is all over runways and stores, from luscious maroons to vibrant reds, this is a must have color for fall.

Crimson is a great accent color to add to an outfit. The deep, vibrant tone, brightens up a normal every day outfit.

Fall is my favorite season. Not only because it has my favorite holidays, but the fashions of fall are fabulous. As temperatures drop, more layering will happen and with these gorgeous colors adding to fall favorites, you can look stylish while staying cool. 

Remember, fashion is fun. It is uniquely you.

David Marmon, 26, is an up and coming fashion designer. He is also a co-manager of Express in Sarastoata, FL. He attends the International Academy of Design and Technology for fashion design. Wanting to focus more on mens clothing, Marmon has an eye for fashion. Customers at Express always ask for the loveable co-manager, knowing he or she will be satisfied with his suggestions. After a friend told him, "one day you will do something important," Marmon began to think what career would do just that.... 

"Fashion is a constantly changing industry that combines art and practicality.  It appeals to everyone because we all wear clothes and we can relate to attributes of great fashion [silhouette, hand, color].  Fashion has done so much for civilization. It has been used to protect us, to help us do our jobs better, to seperate factions of royalty, military, and civilian, and to attract members of the desired sex.  Fashion has a place in every part of history, and will continue to do so...probably forever." -David Marmon

Growing up with a mom that constantly tried to teach him how to sew, it was inevitable that Marmon was going to do something with fashion. 

David Marmon, 26, takes time from his busy work and school schedule to take a break at his second home, the South Gate Mall. Never dressing anything less than fabulous, Marmon showcases his style. 

Working at Express for over 6 years, David Marmon, 26, is a local celebrity at the South Gate Mall in Sarasota, FL. Standing outside on break, customers recognize him on a daily basis. 

Wanting to focus more on mens' clothing, Marmon is a fashionisto himself. Standing against the 1MX shirt wall in the Sarasota Express, Marmon shows his colorful side. 

Sitting on the mens' side of the Sarasota Express, Marmon takes time to relax on break. The jean wall is a constant struggle to keep neat as he sits next to it. 

What is your favorite piece of clothing?

"I can't lie...I love a beautiful sweater. More specifically I have a blue striped turtleneck from the 70s...it's gorgeous. You can't go wrong in a good knit. "

If you are ever in Sarasota, stop by Express. Marmon is a great stylist with bold choices. He is daring, trendy and will give you the hottest look around.

Last week marked the end of New York Fashion Week.  Post-show, the editors, buyers and bloggers went to work to define and list the trends, hoping we’ll follow along.  But for many of us, the sheer shirts of Spring ’11 were are about as realistic for our wardrobes as a meat dress.  Instead, we looked outside of Lincoln Center at the street style of individuals, hoping to find the inspiration to zig when everyone else is zagging.
